Thank you for checking out Pixel Pet Spelling! This guide explains everything you need to know about how the game works and how it supports your child's learning.

How the game works

• The game uses the official list of 100 challenging spelling words for Year 6 SATs preparation.
• Your child earns 5 credits every time they correctly complete a spelling puzzle.
• Words must be spelled correctly twice for them to be marked as mastered.
• The game intelligently selects words that haven't yet been mastered, ensuring effective and targeted learning.

About Pixel Pets

• Each player receives a unique three-word pet code (e.g., "three blue chickens") when they first start playing.
• This pet code allows your child to save and retrieve their progress at any time. Encourage them to write down and keep their code safe.
• Credits earned can be used in future updates to evolve their Pixel Pet and unlock fun rewards.

Privacy and Security

• No personal data about your child is ever collected or stored.
• All progress is saved anonymously through their pet code.
• Pet codes and spelling progress are stored securely and never shared externally.

Leaderboards

• A public leaderboard is visible on the homepage, showing the top 10 players based on credits earned.
• Only pet codes and credit scores are displayed on the leaderboard - no personal data is shown.
